Eponents and Scientific Notation

First, we will talk about exponents. Exponents are made up of two numbers. The base and the exponent. The base is the number, ex. 6. The exponent is the number of times you multiply itself by. So instead of writing 3x3x3x3, you could just write 34. Now, I'll talk about scientific notation. It is an easier way of writing large numbers. So, instead of writing 54,300,000,000,000; you could just write 5.43x1013. An example of this for something small could be the mass of a carbon 12 atom which is 1.66x10 to the -27th power.
